About WhiskeyAtlas
Charting a course through the world of whiskey — one honest dram at a time.
The Origin Story
WhiskeyAtlas was born from a simple frustration — most whiskey sites are either snobbish gatekeepers or thinly-veiled advertising. We wanted something different: a place where curious drinkers could explore distilleries, regions, and bottles without being talked down to or sold to on every page.
Built by SaaSquatch Ltd, a London-based digital agency, WhiskeyAtlas is our love letter to the spirit we keep coming back to. Our founder has spent years navigating the whiskey world — from smoky Islay malts to smooth Speyside drams — and decided it was time to put that knowledge on the map. Literally.
We launched with a clear heading on the compass: build the most useful, honest, and genuinely enjoyable whiskey resource for UK drinkers. No gatekeeping, no pretension, no hidden agendas.
What Sets Us Apart
- 213 Distilleries on the Map. Our interactive map lets you explore distilleries across Scotland, Ireland, England, and Wales. Filter by region, style, or visitor access. Plan your next pilgrimage from your sofa.
- Honest Guides, No Fluff. Every guide is written to educate, not to sell. Whether you're learning to nose your first dram or deciding between cask strengths, we give you the real information — not marketing copy disguised as editorial.
- No Sponsored Reviews. Our recommendations are ours. We do use affiliate links to keep the ship afloat (see our affiliate disclosure), but no distillery or retailer pays for placement or positive coverage. If we wouldn't drink it ourselves, we won't recommend it to you.
- Built for Explorers. Whether you're a seasoned collector charting uncharted waters or a newcomer stepping aboard for the first time, WhiskeyAtlas is designed to meet you where you are. No prerequisite knowledge required.
The Crew
WhiskeyAtlas is built and maintained by the team at SaaSquatch Ltd, a London-based digital agency that builds websites, platforms, and SaaS products across dozens of industries. Whiskey just happens to be the one we enjoy most after hours.
Our crew brings together developers, designers, and whiskey enthusiasts who believe that great digital experiences and genuine subject expertise shouldn't be mutually exclusive. We research, we taste, we argue about peat levels — and then we build something useful out of it.
We're a small ship with a big ambition: to become the most trusted whiskey resource in the UK. If you spot something we've got wrong, or there's a distillery we've missed, we genuinely want to hear from you at hello@whiskeyatlas.co.uk.
Fair winds and fine drams.
