Affiliate Disclosure

The Short Version
WhiskeyAtlas contains affiliate links. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running, fund new content, and avoid plastering the place with banner adverts.
Crucially: our affiliate relationships never influence what we recommend. We only recommend bottles, retailers, and products we would genuinely spend our own money on. If we wouldn't pour it for ourselves, we won't suggest it to you.
Our Affiliate Partners
We currently partner with the following retailers and platforms:
Master of Malt
One of the UK's largest online whiskey retailers with an exceptional range of single malts, blends, and independent bottlings. We earn a commission on purchases made through our links.
The Whisky Barrel
An Edinburgh-based independent retailer specialising in Scotch whisky, including hard-to-find single cask releases. We earn a commission on purchases made through our links.
Flaviar
A spirits subscription and discovery platform that offers tasting boxes and exclusive bottlings. We earn a commission on memberships and purchases made through our links.
Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS)
The world's most adventurous whisky club, offering single cask bottlings with famously creative tasting notes. We earn a commission on memberships and purchases made through our links.
Amazon Associates
We are a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme. We use Amazon links for accessories only — glassware, decanters, books, and similar products. Amazon pays 0% commission on alcohol sales in the UK, so there is no financial incentive for us to link Amazon for bottles. When we link to a bottle, it will be through a specialist whiskey retailer instead.
Other Retailers
From time to time, we may partner with additional whiskey retailers, distillery shops, or related brands. Any new partnerships will be reflected on this page.
How Affiliate Links Work
When you click an affiliate link on WhiskeyAtlas, a small tracking parameter is added to the URL. This tells the retailer that you came from our site. If you go on to make a purchase (usually within 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the retailer), we receive a percentage of the sale as a commission.
You pay exactly the same price whether you use our affiliate link or go to the retailer directly. The commission comes from the retailer's marketing budget, not from your pocket.
Affiliate links on WhiskeyAtlas are woven into our content naturally. We do not use pop-ups, aggressive banners, or misleading calls to action. If a link earns us a commission, it is because we genuinely believe the product or retailer is worth your time.
Editorial Independence
This is the part we care about most. Our content is written by our team, based on our own research, tasting experience, and genuine opinions. No distillery or retailer pays for positive coverage on WhiskeyAtlas.
We do not accept sponsored reviews, paid placements, or “advertorial” content. If a distillery sends us a sample bottle, we will disclose it. If we think a whiskey is average, we will say so — regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with the retailer selling it.
Put simply: we write what we think, and we link where we believe you will get the best deal. The affiliate income is a welcome side effect of recommendations we would make anyway.
Questions?
If you have any questions about our affiliate partnerships or how we make money, we are happy to be completely transparent. Drop us a line at hello@whiskeyatlas.co.uk.
